Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU) is recognized internationally as a leading university in the areas of technology and natural sciences. DTU Construct offers education, research and innovation within manufacturing engineering, solid and fluid mechanics, material science, process technology, design of physical products, knowledge and services. The Section for Manufacturing (MPP) performs world leading research and training in the fields of design, product and process development of additive manufacturing technologies, moulding and forming technologies, integration of digital technologies into manufacturing process chains, application and analytics of sensor technologies to manufacturing processes, in-line and off-line high precision metrology.
Major public institution for higher education and recognized research hub, playing a major role within the scientific and industrial community. Its 8 engineering and management schools, 38 co-managed laboratories and 21 technological platforms maintain strong connections with the industrial sector and are engaged internationally. LGP2, a research laboratory associated with the institution, is internationally recognized for its work on the valorisation of plant biomass, development of bio-based materials (such as paper, cardboard, and composites), recycling processes, nanocelluloses, and printing techniques for surface functionalization and printed electronics. This research, guided by ecodesign principles and sustainable development concerns, aims to reduce the environmental impact of human activities.
IPC is a technical and industrial centre, it is a non-profit entity co-funded by a tax paid by ~ 2000 plastic and composite converting companies in France. IPC’s mission is to prepare and support the plastic and composite industrial sector through the ecological and digitalization transitions. IPC carries out technological testing, demonstration and transfer to industries. IPC operates pilot lines and technical platforms for additive manufacturing (equipped with pilot machines for polymer and metal additive manufacturing), plastics injection molding platform (equipped with semi-industrial machines (from 60 tons to 200 tons injection molding machines, instrumented with sensors and industry 4.0 standards), digital manufacturing unit (team of research engineers developing models (rheology), application of data and AI technologies (ex.: deep neural networks) for quality control of plastic molded products), and Laboratory for characterization (various physico-chemical characterizations).
Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón (ITA) is a non-profit technology centre whose main objective is to promote competitiveness in the industrial sector by means of the development, acquisition, adaptation and transfer of innovative technologies. Area of Materials and Components activities: Ecofriendly and recycled material, valorisation processes and recycling of materials, computational Materials, sustainable processes of material transformation, smart and multifunctional materials and climate neutral components
KTH Royal Institute of Technology is Sweden's leading technical university with the state-of-the-art experimental, educational, and computational facilities. The research and education cover a wide area including natural sciences and all branches of engineering, as well as architecture, industrial management, urban planning, history, and philosophy. The Department of Engineering Mechanics pursues basic and applied research in biomechanics, composite mechanics, fluid mechanics, contact mechanics, fracture mechanics and fatigue, material mechanics and paper mechanics. In the applied research, there are strong connections to industry and public actors. Research at the department of Fibre and Polymer Technology (FPT) ranges from monomer and polymer syntheses and characterization to modelling/simulation, processing, long-term properties and material performance, degradation and functionalities.

Pernoud is a family SME specialized in mould making for plastic, composites, and aluminium industries. The company employed 60 persons and works mainly for the Automotive, building, aeronautics and packaging industries. We provide high precision machining machines (5axes high speed machining, Electro discharged machining, wire cutting machines…), CAD and CAM software dedicated for tool and mold industry, and a shopfloor dedicated for tool and mold maintenance.
INSA Lyon is a leading engineering school with strong humanist values that have formed the basis of its business model for more than 60 years. The university is actively attracting talents from all around the world (nearly 100 different nationalities). INSA Lyon boasts 22 research laboratories, more than 600 researchers and teacher-researchers, 600 PhD students, and over 1 000 industrial contracts with the socio-economic world. The researchers involved in this project are members of the Laboratoire de Mécanique des Contacts et des Structures (Lamcos – UMR 5259).
J. Krebs & Co A/S is an innovative manufacturer within conventional plastics processing. The company was founded in 1956, and have since 2016 been undergoing a huge transformation. One of the drivers behind this transformation is to deliver on measures to become more sustainable. Over the years a number of attempts to work with various biobased and biodegradable alternatives have been executed and the company is currently in the process of getting their first commercial product with a biodegradable product established on the market .
Tallers Soteras have designed and built a pilot plant aimed at 3D technology research into modelling and packaging products. Tallers Soteras has a laboratory open to companies that want to participate with us in R&D into new packaging products and the manufacture of materials for packaging. We provide pulping processes, refined with a Hollander, a product shaping system based on the materials used and studies of mould designs with appropriate drainage. We also provide research into 3D printers, thermoforming drying mould engineering and CAD CAM manufacturing, as well as laboratory apparatus and measuring equipment for refining.
Tetra Pak is engaged in the business of developing, manufacturing and selling processing and packaging systems and services, for liquid and other food products, and has many years’ experience, technology and know-how in such fields. Two production facilities of TetraPak will be involved in the ENDURE project: Tetra Pak Lund in Sweden and Tetra Pak Modena in Italy. Both are fully equipped production facility producing majority of TetraPak products for Swedish and Italian market. The facilities have production equipments, prototyping equipments as well as testing and characterization facilities.
The Universidad de Zaragoza (UNIZAR) is a public university and the major research and higher education institution in the Spanish region of Aragón. Founded in 1542, it is one of the oldest universities in Spain. Its main mission is to generate and transmit knowledge with the objective of the integral formation of people. As of 2020, the academic and research staff of UNIZAR numbers around 4200, while that of enrolled students is about 31000. UNIZAR is made up of over 90 departments, faculties, research institutes and other institutions. UNIZAR is positioned in the top 200 world leading institutions in Material Science and in Chemistry according to the Shanghai ranking. UNIZAR, with the assistance of its European Projects Office, has been involved in more than 280 EU projects between 2014 and 2021. Regarding the H2020 MSCA Programme. The researchers involved in this project are members of the Instituto de Investigación en Ingeniería de Aragón (I3A).
Yangi AB is an innovation start-up (originating from The Loop Factory AB) developing dry forming technology for cellulose-based packaging, a result of more than 10 years of R&D. Yangi has the potential to put a new and disruptive packaging technology on the market which is of interest for the whole packaging value chain. Yangi’s business ambition is to offer the technology platform, including hardware and material solution to packaging producers and brands. Yangi is active in R&D in several areas related to further developing and maturing the dry forming technology such as barriers and cellulose functionalisation, formability of the cellulose network and tooling design: These are all key areas to meet product requirements and fully utilise the potential of dry forming technology. The team at Yangi we have long industrial background with experiences from pulp, paper and packaging and hygiene industry.
